What Is Bijuve HRT Used For?

Bjuve HRT is a Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) that is used to treat the symptoms of menopause in women who have had their last natural period (12 months ago).

Bijuve contains two bio-identical hormones (chemically identical to hormones produced in the body). Estradiol and Progesterone (natural forms of estrogen and progesterone).

How to Take Bijuve Capsules?

Bijuve capsules should be taken once a day, usually around the same time, to help keep a steady and secure stream of hormones in the body. This helps the body absorb the hormones more easily and reduces the chances of any stomach discomfort.

Bijuve is a form of continuous, combined HRT, which means it is to be taken without a break, every single day. This means that there is no monthly bleeding with Bijuve HRT.

Missed Bijuve Doses should be taken as soon as you remember, within 12 hours of the intended time. If more than 12 hours have passed since you were supposed to take your dose, skip it and take the next dose at the normal time the next day. Do not double up to compensate for a mixed dose.

Please be advised that skipping doses can sometimes cause breakthrough bleeding or spotting.

Side Effects of Bijuve

Bijuve, like all hormone-based medication, has some side effects. Some side effects are more common but mild and disappear after a few weeks of continuous use. Some are potentially more moderate to severe but are, however, rarer.

Common but mild side effects of Bijuve include:

• Stroke or heart attack – signs and symptoms include numbness, confusion, vision or speech problems or chest pressure
• Liver problems – manifesting as dark urine, yellow skin or pale stools
• Abnormal Breast or endometrial growths – to ensure that you are safe, your doctor will advise you to do regular check-ups and mammograms while on HRT.
