What Is Elleste Solo?

Elleste Solo contains estradiol hemihydrate, an identical form of estrogen which helps rebalance hormones during menopause.

Since Elleste Solo only contains oestrogen, it is suitable for women who have had their uterus removed.

Menopause is a natural life stage when a woman’s menstrual cycles end due to a decline in the hormones oestrogen and progesterone. This typically occurs when a woman reaches the age of 45-55 years and hasn’t experienced a menstrual period for over 12 months.

This means a woman will no longer ovulate and will begin to lose the functional effects of oestrogen and progesterone.

Women experiencing menopause may report symptoms such as:

  • hot flushes
  • vaginal irritation/dryness
  • night sweats
  • altered mood
  • brain fog
  • irregular menstruation
  • diminished libido

Elleste Solo HRT is a prescribed treatment and is available as a 1mg or 2mg tablet.

It is designed to relieve the symptoms of menopause and therefore improve your well-being, sense of self and quality of life.

What Are Elleste Solo Tablets Used For?

Elleste Solo helps relieve menopausal symptoms such as:

  • Hot flushes
  • Night sweats
  • Vaginal dryness and irritation
  • Altered mood
  • Disrupted sleep
  • Diminished libido
  • Osteoporosis risk

Menopause symptoms occur when the levels of oestrogen begin to fall. This usually occurs between the ages of 45 and 55 years.

Oestrogen is an essential hormone for reproductive health and has other systemic beneficial effects.

Oestrogen regulates the menstrual cycle, supports the structural integrity and growth of the womb lining and vagina and has other bodily benefits, such as increasing bone strength.

Since Elleste Solo tablets balance the levels of oestrogen, it helps relieve symptoms such as vaginal dryness and irritation, hot flushes and altered mood.

Oestrogen also has positive health benefits, such as improved bone density and strength. This reduces your risk of osteoporosis as you age and makes you less prone to fractures.

Oestrogen is also known to have protective features for your cardiac health.

Elleste Solo HRT – How It Works

Elleste Solo tablets are an HRT, which is identical to the hormone oestrogen.

Oestrogen is an essential hormone for reproductive health and has other systemic benefits, such as bone strength and cardiac health.

This is why when oestrogen levels fall during menopause, you may begin to experience symptoms such as heat flashes, brain fog, vaginal dryness/irritation and reduced libido.

Elleste Solo contains ‘estradiol hemihydrate’. This is identical to oestrogen and helps rebalance the falling levels of oestrogen to relieve menopause symptoms.

Elleste Solo is an oestrogen-only HRT, which means women who have had a hysterectomy can take it on its own without a progesterone HRT.

If you haven’t had a hysterectomy, you may be prescribed a progesterone HRT as well.

This is because unopposed oestrogen exposure can increase your risk of endometrial and breast cancer.

Elleste Solo Dosage & Strengths

You can purchase them in packets of 84 tablets (1x a day for 3 months) or 168 tablets (1x a day for 6 months).

  • Some studies suggest oestrogen HRTs can help with joint pain in menopause. However, everyone varies in their response to different treatments, so it is best to seek the medical advice of your doctor.

You may still be able to take Elleste Solo if you still experience periods, but you should always consult your GP.

  • If you are changing from another HRT, you may start taking Elleste Solo once you have finished your current pack of HRT. However, you should always consult your doctor who may give you further instructions on changing your HRTs.

Elleste Solo may cause bloating or water retention as a side effect.

While alcohol doesn’t directly interact with HRTs, it can effect your liver’s processing of medication. Alcohol may also worsen some of your menopausal symptoms, such as hot flushes.

This depends on your individual health needs and is reviewed by a medical professional.

Elleste Solo is oestrogen-only HRT- ideal for women who have had an hysterectomy. Elleste Duet is a combined HRT containing both oestrogen and progesterone, usually for women who still have their uterus.
