Every day, at the same time, take one pill. Take the packs one after the other, without stopping, even if you’re on your period.
It is critical to take the pill at the same time every day. You will not have contraceptive protection if you are more than 3 hours late.
Norgeston is a progestogen-only miniature pill. Levonorgestrel, the active ingredient, alters the environment in your womb. This makes it more difficult for sperm to reach an egg during ovulation and changes the womb lining, preventing a fertilized egg from developing. Norgeston is a highly effective contraceptive.
Norgeston, when used correctly, can prevent pregnancy by up to 99 percent. You may not be protected against pregnancy if you are vomiting or have severe diarrhoea. Continue to take the pill as usual if this happens, but use a condom while you’re sick. If this lasts longer than 24 hours, you should take the same steps as if you missed a pill.
If you miss it by more than 3 hours, you will lose your contraceptive protection.
Norgeston has no known side effects in the majority of women. However, side effects such as headaches, nausea, tummy pain, breast discomfort, acne, and mood swings are possible.
See the patient information leaflet for a complete list of side effects and how to use it correctly. If you have any concerns about side effects, please contact us through your Patient Record.
As soon as you remember, take the forgotten pill. Then, at the regular time, take the next pill. It’s possible that you’ll have to take two pills in one day.
You will not be protected against pregnancy if you do not take it within 3 hours of the usual time. Continue to take your pills as usual, but for the next two days, use a condom. You may need emergency contraception if you had unprotected sex during this time.
Norgeston is safe to use while breastfeeding. There is no evidence that progestogen-only pills affect a healthy baby’s growth or development, or have any effect on breast milk.
A Norgeston prescription can be requested and paid for online. Even if you use an online doctor, you will need a prescription from a clinician before you can buy Norgeston online because it is a prescription-only medication. Without a prescription from a regulated health service with professionally qualified and registered clinicians, you should never buy the contraceptive pill online.
If you want to switch your contraceptive pill to Norgeston, make an appointment with your doctor to discuss your options. If you are switching to a new pill, it is recommended that you do not take a break between packs, and you may need to use other contraceptive methods during the transition.
If you’ve already purchased your pill from us, you can request a third, sixth, or twelve-month supply from your Patient Record if you’re medically eligible. Please send us a message in your Patient Record if you wish to change your pill.
Norgeston should be safe to take with other medications. However, it’s critical that you tell us about any prescription, over-the-counter, or recreational medications you’re taking so that we can safely prescribe Norgeston.
